Sketchbook 17

sb17-11

These sketches go way back to the Wallace Berrie days during the Smurf era. Back in the days when your cubicle neighbor could leave a smoking

cigarette on their desk and be smoking in another office. These sketches come from Sketchbook number seventeen 1987.

Art Dept. Trading Cards

One night at home, I had an idea of making some Art Dept. trading cards. I thought I could give them out as a gift along with a birthday card or leaving card …. but it seemed that some people were leaving faster than I could make their trading card. The cards ended up being a one of a kind box of cards for my personal collection.  ( Hey..it was a cool idea at the time. I even had a sketch for a Darrell Fritz gold collector card.)

More Stuff

How many times have I drawn Wayde, Robert, And Dale?  They seem to be in most of my sketches…even in the backgrounds. They always had an opinion, from Tesla to Yoda, that was always entertaining has well as educational.

Welcome To Variel Street

Sometimes the staff appears to take on characteristics of some of the product that was in development…maybe that was all in my head.

Rubber Disc Wars

Sometimes there were brief outburst of rubber band wars between various cubicles and over time the rubber bands were replaced by foam disc battles…it seems like everybody some how got their hands on a weapon.
